Drug intelligence / Profile preview
V-5 Immunitor is an oral therapeutic vaccine and immunomodulator developed by Immunitor USA for the treatment of various forms of tuberculosis, including drug-sensitive, multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB), and TB/HIV co-infection. The product consists of heat-inactivated *Mycobacterium tuberculosis* antigens formulated into a daily oral pill. It is designed as an adjunct to standard anti-tuberculosis therapy (ATT) to enhance the host's immune response against the infection. Clinical evaluations, including Phase 2 trials conducted at the Lisichansk Regional Tuberculosis Dispensary, have indicated that V-5 Immunitor can improve sputum conversion rates, reduce systemic inflammation, and potentially reverse hepatotoxicity associated with conventional TB medications.
