Overview

V-Steady (VB-101) is an investigational drug-device combination therapy designed for the continuous subcutaneous infusion of levodopa and carbidopa (LD/CD) to treat advanced Parkinson's disease. Developed by V-Bio, the system aims to provide stable plasma levels of levodopa, thereby reducing the motor fluctuations (off-time) and dyskinesia commonly associated with oral pulsatile dosing. The formulation is highly concentrated to allow for a small, wearable infusion pump, improving patient convenience compared to more invasive delivery methods like intestinal gel infusions. By bypassing the gastrointestinal tract, V-Steady ensures more predictable absorption and therapeutic efficacy in patients with fluctuating motor responses.
