Overview

V160 is a conditionally replication-defective viral vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection. It is designed to elicit an immune response against HCMV, particularly targeting glycoprotein B, and is manufactured using adult retinal pigment epithelial cells (ARPE-19). Clinical studies have shown that V160 is immunogenic and well tolerated in healthy adults, though efficacy endpoints in phase 2 trials were not met. The vaccine aims to reduce CMV shedding and may improve immune control of viral replication after infection[1][2][4].
