V3-ProFS-750 is a pH-responsive peptide-based imaging probe designed for the detection and identification of pancreatic cancer by targeting the acidic tumor microenvironment. It is a modified variant of the V3 peptide, optimized for increased water solubility and a wider dynamic range between physiological pH (7.4) and the highly acidic conditions (pH 6.6) characteristic of pancreatic tumors. The peptide is conjugated to the near-infrared fluorophore HiLyte Fluor 750, enabling detection via fluorescence imaging and multispectral optoacoustic tomography (MSOT). Developed by researchers at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center and the Military University Hospital Prague, V3-ProFS-750 aims to overcome the limitations of standard imaging in the dense vasculature and heterogeneous environment of the pancreas.
