V350B is an investigational prophylactic vaccine candidate designed to protect against Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) infection and its associated diseases. It is being co-developed by Merck Sharp & Dohme and ModeX Therapeutics, a subsidiary of OPKO Health. V350B is part of the MDX2201 vaccine program, which utilizes a ferritin nanoparticle platform engineered to present multiple EBV antigens—specifically glycoprotein 350 (gp350), glycoprotein H (gH), glycoprotein L (gL), and glycoprotein 42 (gp42)—to the immune system. The goal is to elicit a robust and broadly neutralizing antibody response against EBV, aiming to prevent infectious mononucleosis as well as reduce the risk of EBV-associated malignancies and autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis. As of mid-2025, V350B is in Phase 1 clinical trials evaluating its safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults[1][2][3][5].
