Drug intelligence / Profile preview
V540B is an investigational multivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine developed to provide broader protection against HPV types than the currently approved GARDASIL 9 vaccine. While GARDASIL 9 protects against nine HPV types, V540B is designed to protect against these same types plus additional HPV strains. The primary mechanism of action is immunostimulation, aiming to induce an immune response that prevents infection by multiple oncogenic and non-oncogenic HPV types. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults. Its main indication is the prevention of cancers and diseases related to human papillomavirus infection[1][2][3][8].
