Overview

V7FS-750 is a novel pH low insertion peptide (pHLIP) conjugated to the near-infrared fluorescent dye HiLyte 750. It is designed for the targeted imaging of the acidic microenvironment characteristic of solid tumors, specifically pancreatic cancer. The V7FS peptide is engineered to have an improved dynamic range compared to earlier pHLIPs like V3, with peak signal accumulation occurring at a pH of approximately 6.6. This allows for high-contrast imaging using multispectral optoacoustic imaging (MSOT) and near-infrared fluorescence (NIR). Developed by researchers at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, V7FS-750 has demonstrated superior signal accumulation in orthotopic murine models of pancreatic cancer compared to previous iterations, facilitating more accurate tumor detection and intraoperative guidance.
