Drug intelligence / Profile preview
V934 + V935 is a prime-boost therapeutic cancer vaccine regimen targeting human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), the catalytic subunit of telomerase that is overexpressed in many tumors. V935 is an adenovirus serotype 6 vector vaccine expressing a modified hTERT antigen, and V934 is a DNA plasmid vaccine encoding the same antigen, delivered intramuscularly with electroporation to enhance uptake. The strategy administers V934-EP as the prime and V935 as the boost to induce hTERT-specific cellular immune responses. In a phase 1 study in patients with solid tumors, the regimen showed acceptable safety with mainly local injection-site reactions and elicited hTERT-specific T-cell responses by ELISPOT, supporting feasibility of this immunotherapy approach.[2][1][9]
