V935 is an Adenovirus-serotype 6 vector vaccine encoding a catalytically inactive version of human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT). It is being developed as part of a cancer vaccine strategy, either alone or in combination with V934, a DNA plasmid vaccine that expresses the same antigen. The vaccine is designed to target hTERT, which is the catalytic subunit of human telomerase. This approach has potential immunostimulating properties for cancer treatment. V935 is administered intramuscularly and has been tested in different dosage levels (low-dose: 0.5 × 10^9 vg, and high-dose: 0.5 × 10^11 vg). A phase I clinical trial (NCT00753415) evaluated V935 alone and in combination with V934 in patients with selected solid tumors. The study assessed safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of this prime-boost immunization regimen. It's important to note that there is another drug with a similar designation - TAK-935/OV935 (soticlestat) - which is a completely different compound developed by Takeda Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Ovid Therapeutics for treating rare developmental and epileptic encephalopathies including Dravet syndrome. This drug works by inhibiting the enzyme cholesterol 24-hydroxylase (CH24H).
