Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VA-MENGOC-BC is a bivalent vaccine designed to provide active immunity against meningococcal disease caused by *Neisseria meningitidis* serogroups B and C. Developed by the Finlay Institute in Cuba and manufactured in Vietnam by Vabiotech, the vaccine consists of the outer membrane protein (OMP) complex from *N. meningitidis* serogroup B (specifically the B:4:P1.19,15 strain) and the purified capsular polysaccharide of *N. meningitidis* serogroup C. The antigens are adsorbed onto an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance the immune response. It is administered via intramuscular injection and is primarily used for the prevention of meningitis and sepsis in infants, children, and adults.
