Overview

VAC-85135 is an off-the-shelf cancer vaccine consisting of a viral vector encoding selected neoantigens, designed to stimulate the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing these neoantigens. The vaccine is being developed as an immunotherapy for myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of blood cancers. Upon administration, the viral vector delivers genetic material encoding tumor-specific protein fragments (neoantigens) that are only expressed in cancer cells, thereby eliciting a specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte response against those cells. The regimen is being studied in combination with ipilimumab to enhance antitumor immunity. VAC-85135 was developed using Nouscom’s proprietary viral vector platform and has been exclusively licensed to Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), which leads clinical development[2][3][4][6].
