Vacc-45 is a combination therapeutic vaccine candidate developed by Immunor for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It consists of two distinct peptide-based components: Vacc-4x and Vacc-C5. Vacc-4x is a therapeutic vaccine composed of four synthetic peptides representing conserved regions of the HIV-1 Gag p24 protein, designed to induce cell-mediated immune responses (T-cell responses) to help the immune system recognize and eliminate infected cells. Vacc-C5 is a peptide vaccine based on the C5 domain of the HIV-1 envelope protein gp120, intended to induce antibodies that inhibit viral entry and reduce chronic immune activation. The combination aims to provide a dual-action approach by stimulating both cellular and humoral immunity to achieve functional cure or improved viral control in HIV patients. It is currently in Phase 2 development.
