vacc-4x + sargramostim

Vacc-4x + sargramostim is a combination of a peptide-based therapeutic HIV vaccine (Vacc-4x) with the immunostimulatory cytokine sargramostim (recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, GM-CSF). Vacc-4x consists of four synthetic peptides derived from conserved regions of the HIV-1 p24 Gag core protein, designed to stimulate T-cell-mediated immune responses against HIV-infected cells. Sargramostim is used as an adjuvant to enhance the immunogenicity of Vacc-4x by recruiting and activating antigen-presenting cells at the injection site. The combination is intended for adjunctive use in HIV-1-infected adults stable on antiretroviral therapy, with the aim of achieving viral load reductions during analytic treatment interruptions, and has also been explored as an immunotherapeutic strategy in other indications such as lymphoma.[2][3]
