Overview
Vacc-Diab1 is a peptide-based vaccine candidate developed by Immunor, specifically designed to target Coxsackievirus B (CVB) antigens. The vaccine is intended for the prevention and treatment of Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), based on clinical and epidemiological evidence linking CVB infections to the autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. By inducing a targeted immune response against CVB, Vacc-Diab1 aims to eliminate a primary environmental trigger of T1D, potentially preventing disease onset in high-risk individuals or preserving residual beta-cell function in recently diagnosed patients. The vaccine utilizes Immunor's proprietary peptide platform and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical development.
