Vactrivir

Vactrivir (also known as Vaktrivir) is a trivalent live attenuated vaccine developed by SPA Microgen (NPO Microgen) for the simultaneous prevention of measles, mumps, and rubella. It is the first Russian-produced multicomponent vaccine of its kind, designed to provide protection against all three diseases with a single injection, thereby improving compliance and simplifying the national immunization schedule. The vaccine contains attenuated strains of the measles virus (Leningrad-16), mumps virus (Leningrad-3), and rubella virus (Wistar RA 27/3). Upon administration, the vaccine replicates limitedly in the host, stimulating a robust and long-lasting immune response characterized by the production of specific neutralizing antibodies and cellular immunity. It is approved for use in children and adults and is a key component of the Russian Federation's National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations.
