Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vacuna Spray is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy (SLIT) product developed by Alergo Pharma for the treatment of allergic diseases, including allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, and allergic conjunctivitis. Formulated as a double-concentration allergen extract delivered via an oral spray, it is designed to induce immunological tolerance through repeated exposure of the sublingual mucosa to specific allergens. The mechanism of action involves modulating the immune system's response by promoting the activity of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and shifting the immune profile away from a Th2-mediated allergic response toward a Th1/Treg-mediated regulatory response. This process leads to a reduction in allergen-specific IgE levels and a long-term decrease in clinical symptoms and sensitivity to environmental triggers.
