VAGA-9001a is a recombinant respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) fusion (F) glycoprotein antigen. It serves as the primary antigenic component of the investigational vaccine VN-0200, developed by VLP Therapeutics. The antigen is designed to trigger the production of neutralizing antibodies and cellular immune responses against both RSV subgroup A and subgroup B. In clinical development, VAGA-9001a is combined with a novel $\beta$-glucan-CpG adjuvant (MABH-9002b) to enhance the immune response in older adults, a population at high risk for severe RSV-related complications. Phase 2 clinical trials in Japanese healthy participants aged 60 to 80 years have demonstrated that the vaccine is well tolerated and elicits significant increases in anti-RSV neutralization activity.
