Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VagiBIOM is a branded intravaginal probiotic suppository product line designed to restore and maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome and pH, primarily for women with bacterial vaginosis and related urogenital symptoms. It uses a multi-strain Lactobacillus formulation (including Lactobacillus crispatus Bi16, Lactobacillus gasseri Bi19, Bacillus coagulans Bi34, and Lactobacillus acidophilus Bi14) combined with a prebiotic complex, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid, and an oil-based matrix (e.g., coconut oil fatty acids) produced using Biom Pharmaceutical’s LiveBiom fermentation and tissue-adapted biofilm technology, with some commercial variants also incorporating boric acid for additional pH control and antifungal activity.[1][3][5][10] By reseeding beneficial Lactobacillus spp. and acidifying the vaginal environment, VagiBIOM reduces vaginal pH, improves Nugent scores and vaginal health index, and relieves symptoms such as itching and discharge in peri- and premenopausal women with bacterial vaginosis, and is marketed as a natural, microbiome-based adjunct or alternative to conventional antibiotic regimens.[1][3][5][7][10]
