Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vagidrat is a non-hormonal, bioadhesive vaginal moisturizing gel designed to alleviate symptoms of vaginal dryness and atrophy, particularly in postmenopausal women. The product is formulated with polycarbophil, a synthetic polymer that adheres to the vaginal epithelium and retains significant amounts of water, providing continuous hydration to the underlying tissues for up to three days. By restoring moisture and maintaining an acidic vaginal pH, Vagidrat helps alleviate discomfort, itching, and dyspareunia associated with the genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM). It is typically applied intravaginally twice a week and serves as a non-hormonal alternative to estrogen-based treatments.
