Vaginal live lactobacillus is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed by Suzhou Osaweike Biopharmaceutical Technology, specifically utilizing strains such as *Lactobacillus crispatus*. It is designed for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis (BV) by restoring the dominance of beneficial lactobacilli in the vaginal microbiota. The mechanism of action involves the production of lactic acid, which lowers the vaginal pH to inhibit the overgrowth of anaerobic pathogens like *Gardnerella vaginalis*. Additionally, these lactobacilli produce antimicrobial substances such as hydrogen peroxide and bacteriocins, and they competitively adhere to the vaginal epithelium, preventing pathogen colonization. The product is typically administered as a vaginal capsule to provide a high concentration of viable bacteria directly to the site of infection.
