Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vagisan Moisturising Cream is a non-hormonal, oil-in-water emulsion designed to treat symptoms of vulvovaginal dryness (VVD) and atrophy. Developed by Dr. August Wolff GmbH & Co. KG, it contains 23% lipids and is adjusted to a physiological pH of 4.5 using lactic acid. Unlike water-based gels, this cream provides both moisture and lipids to form a protective lubricating film on the vaginal and vulvar epithelium, preventing water loss and maintaining skin hydration. It is particularly indicated for women who cannot or choose not to use local estrogen therapy, such as breast cancer survivors experiencing treatment-induced menopause or genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).
