Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VagiVital is a non-hormonal, water-based vaginal gel developed by Peptonic Medical for the treatment of symptoms associated with vulvovaginal atrophy (VVA), such as vaginal dryness, itching, irritation, and dyspareunia. The formulation is primarily composed of hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) and water, acting as a physical moisturizer and lubricant that coats the vaginal mucosa to restore moisture and normalize vaginal pH. Because it does not contain estrogen or other hormones, it is specifically positioned as a safe alternative for postmenopausal women and breast cancer patients undergoing adjuvant aromatase inhibitor therapy who have contraindications for hormonal treatments. A modified version, VagiVitalAC, is also under clinical investigation for the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis.
