Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VAI-VP705 is a recombinant human parvovirus B-19 vaccine composed of viral capsids that incorporate two B-19 proteins (VP1 and VP2). It is designed to induce immunity against Parvovirus B19, thereby preventing infection and its associated complications such as erythema infectiosum. The vaccine has been evaluated in clinical trials for safety and immunogenicity, including studies with and without the MF59 adjuvant. Developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), it reached Phase 2 clinical development but was not approved for any indication[1][2][3][9].
