Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Valagliflozin proglumetac is an investigational potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) being evaluated for the treatment of reflux esophagitis. It belongs to a class of drugs that inhibit the gastric H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump) by competitively binding to the potassium-binding site, which typically results in faster onset of action and more consistent acid suppression compared to traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). The drug is currently being studied in a real-world multicenter cohort trial in China (ChiCTR2600123809) to assess its efficacy in promoting 8-week esophageal mucosal healing and its overall safety profile in adult patients. The study is sponsored by The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.
