Valros

Valros is a branded generic version of rosuvastatin, developed and marketed by Dios Lifesciences. It is a selective and competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, a precursor of cholesterol. By inhibiting this enzyme, Valros primarily acts in the liver to increase the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface, enhancing the uptake and catabolism of LDL and inhibiting the hepatic synthesis of VLDL. It is indicated for the management of primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and the prevention of cardiovascular events. The product is available in multiple strengths and fixed-dose combinations, including formulations with fenofibrate (Valros-F) and a triple combination with aspirin and clopidogrel (Valros-Gold).
