Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NHKC-1** is an oral fixed-dose antihypertensive combination of **valsartan** and **levamlodipine** being developed in China for primary hypertension, including patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled with antihypertensive monotherapy. Valsartan is a selective angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist that reduces angiotensin-II-mediated vasoconstriction and aldosterone effects, while levamlodipine is the active S-enantiomer of amlodipine, a dihydropyridine L-type calcium-channel blocker that promotes arterial vasodilation. The product has been evaluated as an 80 mg/2.5 mg oral tablet in Chinese clinical studies.
