Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rovatitan is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablet developed by LG Chem (formerly LG Life Sciences) for the management of patients with concurrent hypertension and hyperlipidemia (dyslipidemia). It combines two small molecule active ingredients: valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively antagonizes the AT1 receptor to promote vasodilation and reduce blood pressure, and rosuvastatin calcium, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that lowers low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides. The combination is designed to improve patient compliance by reducing the daily pill burden in individuals requiring treatment for both cardiovascular risk factors. Rovatitan is available in multiple dosage strengths and was first approved and marketed in South Korea.
