VAN-301 is a recombinant fusion protein biologic being developed by Valin Technologies, in partnership with Sinopharm, for the treatment of plaque psoriasis and ankylosing spondylitis. The molecule consists of the extracellular domain of the human IL-17A receptor fused to the Fc region of a human IgG1 antibody. It acts as a soluble decoy receptor that binds to the pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-17A with high affinity, preventing it from interacting with its endogenous cell-surface receptors. By neutralizing IL-17A, VAN-301 inhibits the downstream signaling pathways that drive inflammation and tissue damage in autoimmune conditions. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
