Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VANADIS is a small molecule drug developed by CFM Pharma Holding B.V. containing the active ingredient bis-maltolato-oxovanadium (BMOV). It is being developed for the treatment of various trauma-related conditions, including myocardial infarction (cardiovascular), second- and third-degree burns, and acute kidney injury. The drug's mechanism of action involves a cytoprotective effect that maintains the viability of traumatized cells and stimulates tissue repair. Preclinical studies have demonstrated significant efficacy, such as a 42% reduction in heart reperfusion damage and a 90% reduction in tissue damage in burn models. VANADIS has completed Phase 1 safety trials in healthy volunteers and is progressing toward Phase 1B/2A trials for its lead indications.
