Overview
Vanguard Rapid Resp is a family of intranasal veterinary vaccines developed by Zoetis to protect dogs against canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD) complex, commonly known as kennel cough. The vaccine is available in trivalent (Bb + CPiV + CAV-2), bivalent (Bb + CPiV), and monovalent (Bb) formulations. It utilizes avirulent live cultures of *Bordetella bronchiseptica*, canine parainfluenza virus, and canine adenovirus type 2 to stimulate local mucosal immunity in the upper respiratory tract. It is notable for being the first intranasal vaccine family to demonstrate a one-year duration of immunity against these three pathogens and is administered as a single 0.5 mL dose to healthy dogs aged 8 weeks or older.
