Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vanish Varnish is a professional, prescription-only topical dental cavity varnish containing 5% sodium fluoride (22,600 ppm fluoride) enhanced with calcium phosphate (often as tricalcium phosphate) in a rosin-based preparation, formulated as a white, saliva-activated coating that becomes virtually invisible after application and adheres to dry or moist tooth surfaces.[1][3][4][6] By forming a persistent, insoluble film on enamel and dentin, it provides extended release of fluoride, calcium, and phosphate for up to 24 hours, promoting deposition of acid‑resistant mineral on tooth surfaces and occlusion of exposed dentinal tubules to relieve tooth hypersensitivity and root-surface sensitivity.[1][4][6] Classified by FDA as a cavity varnish device (21 CFR 872.3260), it is indicated for treatment of hypersensitive teeth, use on exposed dentin and root sensitivity, and under temporary restorations where post‑operative sensitivity is a concern, and is marketed in flavored, single-dose presentations for professional dental and orthodontic use.[1][4][6][8]
