Overview
Varicella vaccine live attenuated is a vaccine used to prevent chickenpox (varicella) caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). It consists of a live, weakened form of the virus, typically the Oka strain. Upon administration, the vaccine replicates in the host and induces both humoral and cellular immune responses, providing long-term protection against infection. It is commonly administered to children as part of routine immunization schedules and to susceptible adolescents and adults. Changchun Qijian Biological Products is developing a version of this vaccine, which has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials for immunogenicity and safety in individuals aged 13 and older.
