Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This unnamed recombinant Factor X candidate is a pipeline asset under development by VarmX, currently in the lead candidate/IND-enabling stage. It is a recombinant version of the Factor X zymogen, a vitamin K-dependent serine protease essential for the blood coagulation cascade. While VarmX's lead program (VMX-C001) is a modified Factor Xa for reversing anticoagulants and another candidate is specifically for Factor X deficiency, this particular program is designated for "multiple therapeutic applications" that have not yet been publicly specified. The drug is intended to provide a controlled, recombinant source of Factor X to address various hematological conditions. Due to its early stage of development, specific clinical data and detailed mechanisms of action beyond its role as a procoagulant factor are not yet available.
