Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vartumab F8scFv is a zirconium-89-radiolabeled single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody fragment developed by VAR2 Pharmaceuticals. It targets oncofetal Chondroitin Sulfate (ofCS), a tumor-specific glycosaminoglycan that is highly expressed in a wide range of solid tumors but absent from normal tissues. The agent is being evaluated in the Phase 0 VARTUTRACE trial (NCT06645808) as a PET/CT molecular imaging tracer to assess tumor targeting, biodistribution, and pharmacokinetics. This microdosing study aims to validate ofCS as a target for future therapeutic applications, specifically Vartumab-based antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
