Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vasa-2 (VT2) is a clinical-stage small molecule **selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM)** being developed by **Orphinic Scientific**. The drug is designed to address **muscle atrophy** (including sarcopenia and loss of muscle mass) and **diastolic heart failure** (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, HFpEF) by selectively targeting the androgen receptor. As a SARM, Vasa-2 is intended to provide the anabolic benefits of androgens on muscle and bone tissues while minimizing the androgenic side effects associated with non-selective steroids. The asset is currently positioned for Phase 2 clinical development, targeting conditions characterized by significant muscle loss and impaired cardiac relaxation.
