Vascular endothelial growth factor a165-stimulated adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (VEGF-A165-stimulated ADSCs) are a type of cell therapy utilizing adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ADSCs) that have been engineered, often through genetic modification, to express and secrete elevated levels of vascular endothelial growth factor A165 (VEGF-A165). ADSCs are multipotent stem cells derived from adipose tissue, known for their self-renewal capacity, ability to differentiate into various cell types, and immunomodulatory properties. VEGF-A165 is a crucial growth factor that plays a central role in angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and vasculogenesis (the de novo formation of blood vessels), as well as in regulating vascular permeability. By overexpressing VEGF-A165, these modified ADSCs enhance pro-angiogenic effects, promoting the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of endothelial cells. This therapeutic approach is being investigated for its potential in promoting therapeutic angiogenesis, particularly in conditions involving ischemia, and for improving tissue regeneration, such as in fat graft survival and bone repair.
