Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 and 2 specific epitope vaccine is a **target-defined therapeutic cancer-vaccine platform**, rather than one uniquely standardized commercial drug product. Representative clinical formulations combine HLA-restricted synthetic peptide epitopes derived from vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2, including VEGFR1-1084 and VEGFR2-169. The peptides are intended to induce cytotoxic T-cell responses against VEGFR1- and VEGFR2-expressing tumor-associated vascular endothelial cells, thereby disrupting tumor angiogenesis. Investigational regimens have generally used subcutaneous administration with Montanide ISA-51 or related incomplete Freund's adjuvant preparations, often alongside chemotherapy.
