Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VAX181 is a recombinant influenza vaccine component developed by Vaxent intended to provide immunity against influenza. It is not available as a standalone drug, but is mixed ("field mix") with other components such as VAX128C, VAX173, and VAX172 to create a quadrivalent recombinant influenza vaccine (VAX2012Q). The vaccine is designed to stimulate an immune response via exposure to recombinant antigens that mimic the influenza virus, thereby preparing the immune system to recognize and fight real influenza infection[6].
