Overview

VAX2012Q is a quadrivalent seasonal influenza vaccine candidate developed by VaxInnate. It consists of four hemagglutinin subunits (H1N1, H3N2, B-Yamagata, and B-Victoria) genetically fused to flagellin, a bacterial protein that acts as a Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) agonist. This fusion enhances the immune response by activating both innate and adaptive immunity. The vaccine is produced using recombinant DNA technology, allowing for rapid and scalable manufacturing. Clinical studies in healthy adults have shown that VAX2012Q elicits robust immune responses at various dose levels with high seroprotection rates and an acceptable safety profile characterized mainly by mild to moderate injection site pain[1][2][3][7].
