Overview

Vaxelis + MCC-TT is a combination vaccine regimen consisting of Vaxelis (V419), a hexavalent vaccine, and a meningococcal serogroup C conjugate vaccine (MCC-TT). Vaxelis, developed by MCM Vaccines B.V. (a joint venture between Merck and Sanofi), is a combination vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis (pertussis toxoid, filamentous hemagglutinin, pertactin, and fimbriae types 2 and 3), inactivated poliovirus (types 1, 2, and 3), Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) conjugate (polyribosylribitol phosphate conjugated to meningococcal outer membrane protein complex), and recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen. MCC-TT is a conjugate vaccine consisting of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C capsular polysaccharide conjugated to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. This combination is designed to provide comprehensive protection against seven major pediatric infectious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, Hib infection, hepatitis B, and meningococcal meningitis caused by serogroup C. The regimen was evaluated in Phase III clinical trials (such as NCT01553279) to demonstrate the immunogenicity and safety of co-administering these vaccines in infants.
