Vaxphoid

Vaxphoid is a typhoid polysaccharide vaccine developed and manufactured by Incepta Vaccines (a division of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd.) in Bangladesh. It consists of the purified Vi capsular polysaccharide extracted from the *Salmonella typhi* Ty2 strain. The vaccine is designed to provide active immunization against typhoid fever by inducing the production of protective antibodies against the Vi antigen of the bacterium. It is indicated for adults and children aged two years and older, particularly those at increased risk of exposure, such as travelers to endemic regions, healthcare personnel, and laboratory workers. Vaxphoid is administered as a single intramuscular injection, with booster doses recommended every three years for individuals remaining at risk.
