Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VaxRex (HA + M1) is a virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate developed by Metaclipse Biopharma for the prevention of influenza, specifically targeting the elderly population (65+). Utilizing the proprietary VaxRex™ platform, the vaccine incorporates influenza hemagglutinin (HA) and matrix protein 1 (M1) antigens along with biological adjuvants. This design aims to elicit robust humoral and cellular immune responses, addressing the reduced vaccine efficacy often seen in older adults due to immunosenescence. The program is currently in early clinical development.
