**VB19055** is a small molecule chemical drug developed by Shenzhen Yangli Pharmaceutical Technology Co. Ltd. as a selective inhibitor of cytochrome P450 11B2 (CYP11B2), also known as aldosterone synthase, which catalyzes the final steps in aldosterone biosynthesis. By blocking CYP11B2, it reduces aldosterone production, a key driver of hypertension via sodium retention and vasoconstriction. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for hypertension, with ongoing trials evaluating safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, food effects, and QT/QTc prolongation in healthy Chinese adults.[1][3]
