Overview

VB4-A32 is a preclinical-stage, orally active small molecule drug candidate being developed by Vectus Biosystems for the treatment of liver fibrosis, including hepatitis- and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH)-associated liver fibrosis. Derived from research into the anti-fibrotic properties of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), VB4-A32 acts as a VIP mimetic and natriuretic peptide receptor C (NPR-C) agonist. In preclinical models of fatty liver disease, VB4-A32 has demonstrated the ability to significantly reduce peri-portal liver fibrosis and restore normal liver tissue architecture.
