Overview

**VBI-1901** is an investigational bivalent enveloped virus-like particle cancer vaccine developed by VBI Vaccines for glioblastoma. It presents two cytomegalovirus antigens, glycoprotein B and phosphoprotein 65, to induce CMV antigen-specific cellular and humoral immune responses against CMV-positive tumor cells. The program was evaluated principally in recurrent glioblastoma, including intradermal administration with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and separate clinical evaluation with GSK's AS01B adjuvant. VBI-1901 received FDA Fast Track and Orphan Drug designations for recurrent glioblastoma. The Phase 1/2 study registered as NCT03382977 is listed as terminated.
