Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**VBI-2900** is a coronavirus vaccine program developed by VBI Vaccines using proprietary enveloped virus-like particle (**eVLP**) technology. It comprises three vaccine candidates: **VBI-2901** (trivalent pan-coronavirus targeting SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV spike proteins), **VBI-2902** (monovalent against ancestral SARS-CoV-2 Wuhan strain), and **VBI-2905** (monovalent against Beta SARS-CoV-2 variant B.1.351). These eVLP-based vaccines express modified prefusion spike proteins, adjuvanted with aluminum phosphate, eliciting broad neutralizing antibody responses against multiple variants including Omicron, Delta, and bat coronaviruses like RaTG13, with preclinical data showing superior titers compared to convalescent sera and clinical Phase 1 studies demonstrating safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity as boosters.[1][3][5][8]
