Overview

VBT-34 is a preclinical small molecule compound being developed by Vortex Biotechnology Corporation for the treatment of hematological and solid tumors. Administered orally, the drug acts as a stimulator of RNA degradation through a novel mechanism that involves inhibiting the formation of the EDC3:Pim1/3 complex. This inhibition modulates RNA half-life and promotes the degradation of oncogenic RNAs within cancer cells. Developed in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Kraft, VBT-34 is currently undergoing optimization of its drug-like properties, including potency and pharmacokinetics, while efficacy is being evaluated in animal tumor models. The compound represents a tumor-agnostic approach targeting unique oncology pathways related to RNA stability.
