Overview

VCAP-103 is an engineered, shielded adenoviral vector-based gene therapy developed by Vector BioPharma for the treatment of solid tumors. Utilizing the company's proprietary VCAP (Vectorized Capsid) platform, the drug is designed to overcome the limitations of traditional viral vectors, such as immune neutralization and off-target toxicity. VCAP-103 is engineered to be shielded from the host immune system and targeted to the tumor microenvironment, where it delivers genetic payloads encoding for the immunostimulatory cytokines Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and 4-1BB ligand (4-1BBL). This localized expression aims to activate potent anti-tumor T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell responses while minimizing systemic side effects.
