VCE-003.2

VCE-003.2 is a semi-synthetic derivative of the non-psychotropic cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG), developed by Emerald Health Biotechnology España (VivaCell Biotechnology). It functions as a dual-action small molecule that targets the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) and modulates the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) pathway. Unlike traditional PPARγ agonists, VCE-003.2 is designed as a non-thiophilic compound to minimize potential toxicity while maintaining potent neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory activities. Preclinical studies have demonstrated its ability to protect dopaminergic neurons, reduce neuroinflammation, and improve motor deficits in models of Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies.
