Drug intelligence / Profile preview
VCE-005.1 is a preclinical-stage small molecule developed by Emerald Health Biotechnology España (VivaCell Biotechnology) that targets the Protein Phosphatase 2A (PP2A) complex, specifically the B55α regulatory subunit (PP2A/B55α). PP2A is a major serine/threonine phosphatase that regulates diverse cellular processes, including cell survival, inflammation, and vascular homeostasis. The B55α subunit is particularly involved in regulating the cell cycle and stress-responsive signaling pathways. VCE-005.1 is being investigated for the treatment of ischemic and neurovascular conditions, such as critical limb ischemia, acute peripheral artery diseases, acute neurovascular diseases, and neonatal palsy, where its modulation of PP2A activity is intended to provide neuroprotective and vasculoprotective effects.
